Currently the Government is providing a scheme known as the Home Energy Saving scheme provided through Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) which provides grants to homeowners who have built their homes prior to 2006. Homes built after 2006 were built with a very high standard of insulation and heating controls, and therefore upgrading these measures is not necessary. |

| The Home Energy Savings Scheme provides assistance to homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home in order to reduce energy use and costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
