A Building Energy Rating certificate provides an insight into the energy performance of a dwelling/building. The assessment calculates the energy required for space heating, ventilation, water heating and lighting, less the savings from renewable energy generation technologies.
The certificate will provide annual values for delivered energy consumption, primary energy consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and costs.
The BER label can only be produced by an independent BER assessor who is qualified and registered as an Energy Professional with Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) – Ireland’s national energy agency.
In addition to the certificate, a detailed advisory report will be issued as well. This report outlines how a building can be improved in order to reach a higher rating.
